Day 92

On day 92, we worked with popcorn!  The kids counted out 100 popcorn kernels and then put them into the popcorn popper.

100 popcorn kernels!  I was surprise how little it looks in the popper!

Then the kids had to estimate how many cups it would make when popped.  They estimated 10 cups.  Then we popped the popcorn and used our 5 senses as it popped.

 There was exactly 1 cup of popcorn for 100 kernels.

 The kids then used the popcorn for a page of a book they were working on called "The Tricky Teen Book".  They had to count 14 popcorn pieces, draw them, write the correct tally marks for 14 and then write the number 14, four times.  Then they could eat their popcorn.
